Who will Bell the Cat? - Completing Story
Once upon a time, there lived a rich family in a village. They lead a prosperous life, ate well, and wore nice clothes. They were happy but they also had a huge problem. Several mice also lived in that lavish house. As time passed by, they increased their number more and more. They used to make holes in clothes, eat and ruin food, run all over the house, bite family members in their sleep, and so on. The house started to smell very bad too. The family was very disturbed, so the house owner made a plan to solve this problem. He bought a big cat who was very fond of eating fresh mice. As soon as the cat started to live in the house, it became very difficult for all the mice to survive let alone create a ruckus all over the house. They were hunted down every day and their number were decreasing very fast.
Seeing this the mice leaders got scared for their lives and called for an immediate meeting. There they mourned for their previous state where they would get plenty of food, whereas now the cat enjoys hunting them down. They were all very angry and started to search for solutions. Some of the mice gave a few pieces of advice but none was granted by the majority. Then one mouse stood up and said, "We should tie a bell around the cat's neck. Thus, we will get warned before it can catch us." This idea was praised and granted by all of the mice. They were in a mood for celebration because they thought that they have found a solution.
But suddenly, one of the mice raised a question by asking, "Who is to bell the cat?" There was a pin-drop silence because whoever will bell the cat, will be killed instantly by it. It was a suicide mission. The question remained unanswered, and no mice were brave enough to volunteer. They were very disappointed. As there were no mice who will bell the cat, their meeting was called off. They had accepted their fate and left the house forever.
